JAZZ

Polish Poster School and Polish Jazz have much in common. They became famous at the same time, enjoyed equal esteem in the world, the most famous poster artists made covers for the most famous jazz records. The exhuberant aesthetics of images mirrored the intensity of jazz improvisations.

The Pigasus exhibition shows the works of two most outstanding and productive artists: Waldemar Swierzy and Jan Sawka. Swierzy created master portraits of many jazz musicians, Sawka was known for his series of posters for the „Jazz on the Odra” festival in the 1970s.
